Hainan issued an official notice on the announcement on the launch of operations at the ‘second-line ports’ of the Hainan Free Trade Port on July 29. According to the announcement, China’s State Council has approved the establishment of 10 ‘second-line ports’ across Hainan. The approved ports are as follows: Haikou Port, Yangpu Port, Basuo Port, Sanya Port, Qinglan Port, Haikou Xinhai Port, Haikou South Port, Haikou Meilan International Airport, Sanya Phoenix International Airport, and Qionghai Bo’ao Airport. Once the island-wide independent customs operations is implemented, these 10 second-line ports will officially launch customs inspection functions for supervised goods. Movement of people, goods, and vehicles, excluding zero-tariff imported transport vehicles and yachts, between the Hainan Free Trade Port and the Chinese mainland will continue to be managed in accordance with current regulations.
