The 25th typhoon of the year, Kalmaegi, moved into the South China Sea on the morning of November 5th. By 14:00, it had intensified from typhoon to severe typhoon status, and at 16:00, its center was located about 745 kilometers southeast of Yongxing Island in Hainan’s Sansha City, over the southeastern waters of the South China Sea, with maximum winds near the center reaching Force 14. It is expected that Kalmaegi will move west-northwest at a speed of about 25 kilometers per hour, gradually intensifying further, and make landfall along the central coast of Vietnam on the night of the 6th, after which it will gradually weaken.
